Last Thursday, the N49.7 trillion “Restoration” budget was approved by the Senate and House of Representatives for a second reading. While discussing the general concepts of the budget, lawmakers praised the President’s ambition for national progress. After a voice vote, Senate President Godswill Akpabio then sent the bill to the Committee on Appropriations.
According to the 2025 budget, N34.82 trillion will be collected to cover N47.9 trillion in expenses, leaving N13 trillion in deficit. Lawmakers have voiced hope that the budget will be able to address important areas and promote national development.
