About 18 people burnt to death on Saturday in a road accident which occurred along Akure /Owo road in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The accident involved an 18-passenger bus with registration number plate: ADAMAWA YLA 25 XU: bus and a truck with the registration number: Lagos GG 873 XM occurred around 3:30 am on Saturday.
An eyewitness explained that the accident occurred when the driver of the truck lost control of the vehicle and collided with the passenger bus which was coming from the opposite side. He added that the two vehicles caught fire immediately.
Confirming the accident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Femi Joseph, said the driver and motor boy of the truck survived the accident but said they ran away after the crash.
