
A review of President Bola Tinubu’s proposed 2025 budget by shows that N255.7 million is earmarked for the purchase of sports utility vehicles (SUVs) for the president and vice president. These vehicles will form part of the operational fleet of the Presidential Conference Vehicle Unit (CCU) in Abuja.
Analysis shows that N127.8million is allocated for SUVs and another N127.8 million for CCU operational vehicles. The proposed budget also outlines significant spending on renovations, with N4668 million earmarked for upgrading the Vice President’s residence at State House and N298.3 million for the Vice President’s Guest House in Asokoro, Abuja.
Furthermore, the proposed budget includes N164.9 million for the purchase of tyres for armoured and combat vehicles, separate from the N366 billion budget for other operational vehicles at the State House.
An additional N109 billion was earmarked to replace SUVs in the State House fleet These costs are detailed on several pages of the official budget document while presenting the budget titled ‘Recovery Budget: Securing Peace, Rebuilding Prosperity’,
President Tinubu stressed his administration’s commitment to stabilizing the economy and improving the lives of Nigerians.
The budget aims to consolidate economic restructuring efforts, boost trade and investment, and revive the manufacturing sector. Tinubu reiterated his confidence in the resilience of the Nigerian economy and Nigerians to overcome challenges.
