Jude Okoye, the ex-manager of the split music group P-Square, faced the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in court on Tuesday. The EFCC hauled him before the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja, slapping him with new charges of stealing $1,019,763.87 and £34,537.59. They say Jude and his company, Northside Music Limited, took money meant for Peter Okoye from digital music royalties between 2016 and 2023. The case, tagged Ref/99260/2025, claims he grabbed $767,544.15 from Lex Records Limited, cheating his former client out of his share.

The EFCC didn’t stop there. They also accused Jude of pocketing £34,537.59 more from Lex Records, $133,566.49 from Kobalt Music, and $118,652.23 from Mtech Limited—all royalties that should’ve gone to Peter Okoye. Prosecutor Mohammed Bashiru told the court these moves broke Lagos State laws under Sections 278 and 285. Jude said “not guilty” to everything. His lawyer, Clement Onwuenwunor, stood by him, while Bashiru pushed the EFCC’s side. This isn’t Jude’s first rodeo he’s already fighting a similar case at the Federal High Court, where he got N100 million bail on Monday.

After the charges were read, Jude’s lawyer brought up a bail request filed on February 27, 2025. The court will decide that later, but for now, Jude’s in hot water. Nigerians are watching this family drama turn legal mess, wondering how it’ll end for the once-tight P-Square crew. The EFCC says they’ve got the evidence, and Jude’s fighting to clear his name.
