The Kaduna state government disclosed on Friday, the eve of the presidential election that a total of about 66 persons were killed by unknown gunmen in the Kajuru local government of Kaduna state, just few hours to the conduct of the presidential and parliamentary elections.

According to a statement released by the spokesman to the governor of Kaduna state, Samuel Aruwan, he claims that security agencies are on the trail of the assailants and promised that the government will get to the root of the matter.

The statement however did not contain details about where or how the incident happened but was among the victims were 22 children and 12 women.
