AIR PEACE acquires 10 brand new Boeing 737 Max 8 – a bold push for aviation dominance in West Africa

The arrival soon of 10 new Boeing’s will increase the fleet of Air Peace to 37 – arguably more functional aircraft than Nigerian Airways ever had at it’s peak. Air Peace already operates 27 aircraft.

The deal is said to make Air Peace the first airline in West Africa to own 10 new 737 Max 8 aircraft.

The deal with Boeing was signed by Mr Allen Onyema, chairman of Air Peace, Mr Larry Tolliver, Boeing Sales Director, West Africa, on behalf of Boeing Corporation, and witnessed by the US Consul General to Nigeria, Mr John Bray.

Boeing is reported to have given Air Peace a lot of incentives, ranging from training, spare parts and other support, worth millions of Dollars, to help the Airline achieve a high -level of immediate efficiency. The new aircrafts will drastically reduce Air Peace Airline’s costs of operations.

Air Peace is now said to be fully ready for international flight operations to Europe and the United States.

The Sales Director of Boeing, Mr Tolliver, praised Air Peace for the feat.

Also present at the signing ceremony in Lagos was the Managing Director of Fidelity Bank, Mr Nnamdi Okonkwo who praised Mr Onyema for his hard work and integrity.

He confirmed that Fidelity Bank decided to support Air Peace because of it’s financial discipline and sound business model.

Will the proposed new National Carrier Air Nigeria, ever gain traction? If and when it is launched in December? If not? Nigeria’s aviation needs are so vast that 2 or more efficient airlines can compete and coexist.
