Anambra Defies IPOB’s Sit-at-Home Order, Embraces Full Commercial Activities

In Anambra State, residents boldly defied the two-week sit-at-home order issued by the Finland-based factional leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Simon Ekpa.

Despite the illegal order, commercial activities thrived across the state, with traders, businesses, and transporters, including banks, operating without hindrance.

Governor Charles Soludo’s meetings with stakeholders, including traders and commercial bank managers, may have contributed to the resolute stand against the sit-at-home directive.

Notably, markets and banks remained open in Awka, Onitsha, Ekwulobia, Nnewi, and other areas, as residents freely moved about, demonstrating their commitment to conducting legitimate business.
