The National Working Committe of the APC have suspended Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state and Rochas Okorocha of Imo state over anti-party activities. The decision was made at its meeting held on Friday in Abuja.
Both governors are supporting different candidates for the governorship election in their states which is against the set down rules of the All Progressive Congress.
Okorocha, who recently won a Senate seat as APC candidate, is backing his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu who is in the race to become the next governor of Imo state under the party- Action Alliance.
Amosun also won a Senate seat as APC senator last week and he is also supporting a member of the House of Representatives, Abdulkadir Akinlade, as governor as a member of the Allied Peoples Movement.
APC has Senator Hope Uzodinma as its governorship candidate in Imo State while Prince Dapo Abiodun is the candidate in Ogun, but both governors have refused to drum support for the APC candidates.
