The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed the appointment of the former Governor of Kano, Abdullahi Ganduje, as the new National Chairman of the party. The decision was announced on Friday, marking a notable shift in the party’s leadership.
Furthermore, the NEC also appointed Senator Basiru Ajibola as the National Secretary, adding more depth to the party’s top ranks. These appointments come in the midst of the 10th Senate’s ongoing screening process for ministerial nominees.
Speaking of the screening exercise, the arrival of the second batch of ministerial nominees has brought the total number before the Senate to 47. Senate President Godswill Akpabio has revealed that the screening process for the second batch list will commence on Friday this week, with new nominees given Thursday to ensure their documentation is perfected.
The APC’s NEC decisions are likely to have a significant impact on the party’s direction and strategy moving forward.
