Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister is demanding urgent action from the Ghanaian Government after armed men destroyed a building belonging to the Nigerian High Commission in Accra.

It was alleged that armed men rammed ino the locked gate with a bulldozer and pulled down parts of a one-storey building under construction in the compound.

The destroyed structure would have become on completion, accommodation for the staff of the High Commission as well as temporary lodging for stranded Nigerians in Ghana.

Investigating this demolition of Nigeria High Commission’s property, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Onyema said on Twitter, “We are engaging the Ghanaian Government and demand urgent action to find the perpetrators and provide adequate protection for Nigerians and their property in Ghana.”
