After a stellar 15 years career, 36 year old Arsenal and former Chelsea goalkeeper, Petr Cech, has confirmed that he will retire from football at the close of the Premier League season.

He realesed statements through his social media accounts on Tuesday, claiming that he looked back and felt he has achieved everything in the game of football and was ready to hang gloves and experience life outside the pitch. In one of his posts he wrote, “This is my 20th season as a professional player and it has been 20 years since I signed my first professional contract, so it feels like the right time to announce that I will retire at the end of this season”.

He hopes to continue working hard and win one more throphy with Arsenal. He currently holds a number of records in the English top flights which really tells of his greatness. He has the record for most clean sheets (161) and longest streak without conceding a goal (903 minutes).

He will surely leave with his head in the sky as one of the most decorated goal keepers in the history of English football.
