The Independent National Electoral Commission on Wednesday, 27 February declared Muhammadu Buhari winner of the 2019 presidential election.
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has out rightly rejected the result citing several malpractices which includes connivance of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC officials, security agents and the ruling party to manufacture bogus figures and outright falsification of the returns from the polling units.
Atiku has confirmed today through a recent statement released by him that he has elected a legal team that will head to the election petition tribunal having made known his misgivings to the National Peace Committee.
In his own words he was quoted saying “I have just inaugurated my legal team and charged them with the responsibility of ensuring that our stolen mandate is retrieved
However the two Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, Chief Kanu Agabi and Ikpeazu were allegedly threatened by government not be part of the legal team.
