Canada has put out a holiday security warning to its citizens planning to travel to Nigeria.

The country in the new security warning warned its citizens on its website that security in Nigeria is unpredictable, It urged them to exercise a ‘high degree of caution” in Abuja, Calabar and Lagos State.

The alert stated that Canadians should avoid non-essential travel to Nigeria due to the risky security condition throughout the country and the serious risk of terrorism, crime, inter-communal clashes, armed attacks and kidnappings.

It stated that the Regional risk level was high and that it’s citizens should Avoid all travel

In its warning it also pointed out various states to avoid in Nigeria which included Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto and Zamfara, the north-central state of Plateau State in the North-West, Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Jigawa and Yobe in the North-east and Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Delta, Imo and Rivers in the Niger Delta region on the country as they are likely targets for armed attacks, kidnapping among others.
