Auwalu Daudawa, a bandit leader and six members of his gang, on Monday, surrendered to Security agencies in Zamfara state.
The weapons surrendered by them included 20 AK-47 rifles and one RPG.
At a meeting with Governor Bello Matawalle and security agencies, they declared their repentance from banditry. Daudawa appealed for forgiveness from the government and people of the state
Matawalle applauded him and his followers for surrendering their arms, he also lauded the residents of the state for supporting the process.
Speaking further, the governor pledged to strengthen the discussion between the state and the bandits to ensure lasting peace in Zamfara.
