Bobrisky’s Alleged Prison Scandal Sparks Major Controversy

Nigerian crossdresser, Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, popularly known as Bobrisky, has become embroiled in a scandal following revelations about his brief time in Kirikiri Prison. Despite being sentenced to six months for naira abuse in April, reports claim that Bobrisky only served three weeks before negotiating his early release, allegedly through financial means.

The controversy took center stage after social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, released a recorded phone conversation where Bobrisky confessed to serving her prison sentence outside the Kirikiri facility. According to sources, Bobrisky reportedly paid N15 million to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to have money laundering charges dropped.

Sources familiar with the case revealed that after Bobrisky’s sentencing, he was transferred from Kirikiri to an undisclosed location, where he received VIP treatment until his early release in August. An official at the prison confirmed that money played a significant role in securing the crossdresser’s early freedom. Bobrisky was reportedly “guarded like a president” during his brief stay, limiting interactions with other inmates.

In the midst of these allegations, renowned human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to VeryDarkMan to retract his claims that Falana accepted N10 million from Bobrisky in exchange for leniency. Falana’s legal team characterized the claims as defamatory, threatening legal action if a retraction and public apology are not issued promptly.
