A leader of the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, Barr. Olusegun Bamgbose has cautioned President Muhammadu Buhari against extending the tenure of the retired Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu.

Adamu is expected to vacate the office of the IGP for someone else to continue as he already completed his 35 years of service on Monday. But the president has the rights to extend his stay if he wishes.

Bamgbose said that Mohammed Adamu should also be removed followingg the recent removal of security heads by the president.

He said that there will be no justification to if the president decides to extend the tenure of the Inspector General of Police, when he has been relieved of his duties.

Stating that the country has a lot of capable hands that will be able to take over from him and even do better than him, he said that the president by his decision on this matter will prove to Nigerians if he is the president of Nigeria or President of the North as Nigerians are watching whether Buhri will live up to expectation of those who believe in equity.
