Nigeria’s President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has called for an immediate end to the fighting that broke out between the military and para-military in Sudan’s capital, Khartoum.

During a visit to him in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, by the transitional president of Chad, General Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, Buhari described the fight between the Rapid Support Forces as “unwelcome.”

The clashes claimed tens of lives and have been described as “unfortunate.”

Buhari and Deby-Itno called on all neighboring countries and the international community to intervene and negotiate a ceasefire.

Deby-Itno warned that if the situation is not arrested, it will have serious repercussions on neighboring countries.
