Burna Boy Clinches Best International Act Award at 2023 BET

Renowned Nigerian musician Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, emerged victorious as he secured the prestigious Best International Act award at this year’s Black Entertainment Awards (BET). The highly anticipated event showcased Burna Boy’s triumph over a talented pool of contenders, including Ayra Starr, Central Cee, and Stormzy, among others.

Attending the ceremony in person, Burna Boy basked in the excitement as he was declared the winner. However, it was his mother, Bose Ogulu, who gracefully accepted the award on his behalf, adding to the significance of the moment.

Burna Boy’s remarkable trajectory over the past few years has been nothing short of extraordinary. His album ‘Love, Damini,’ released in 2022, achieved global success, propelling him further into the limelight. This recent win at the BET Awards marks his third triumph in the Best International Act category, following his victories in 2019 and 2021.

The category itself boasted a formidable lineup of nominees, including renowned artists such as Aya Nakamura, Ayra Starr, Central Cee, Ella Mai, K.O, L7nnon, Stormzy, Tiakola, and Uncle Waffles.

Burna Boy’s accomplishment amidst such fierce competition is a testament to his artistry and enduring popularity on the international stage.
