CATHOLIC BISHOP CONFERENCE OF NIGERIA JOINS FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19 AS IT OFFERS CENTRES FOR TREATMENT

The Catholic Bishop Conference of Nigeria has offered all its health facilities across the country as isolation and treatment centres for coronavirus patients.

The Director of the Catholic Health Secretariat in Nigeria, Emmanuel Okechukwu, revealed that the church has more than 440 heath facilities and they were willing to allow them to be used for testing, isolation and treatment centres.

Nigeria as a nation have been struggling with bed spaces and has called for the donation of properties from organisations and individuals.

The head of the coronavirus response team in Nigeria, Boss Mustapha, has called on state governments to take advantage of the facilities.

Nigeria has 4,641 confirmed cases of coronavirus though there are concerns regarding low levels of testing.
