The suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen, has today resigned from his duty.

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in Onnoghen’s legal team recently confirmed his resignation on Friday, admitted that he personally asked the embattled CJN, and he confirmed the development, but did not authorise him to speak on the matter.

Barely 24 hours after the National Judicial Council (NJC) concluded investigating Onnoghen for various allegations of misconduct, he was believed to have turned in his resignation letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, to avoid being sacked.
