A 35-year-old Jamiu Olasheu who claims to be a cleric has been arrested with three other young men for being in possession of a human skull. Two of the suspects were arrested by a team of harworking policemen at Kofedoti area of Ogun state.
45 year old Teslim Ayeniromo and 35 year old Sunday Kolade are the names of the nabbed suspects. During a search, the human skull was discovered in a bag one of them held, consequent upon which they were dragged to the Police station.
An interrogation session was carried out by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Adegbite Omotayo, after which one of the suspects confessed that the skull was given to them by one Mr Michael Osanyinbi, adding that they were on their way to deliver it to the cleric when they were intercepted. The suspects later led the policemen to the house of the self-acclaimed cleric’s house
The cleric then testified to the fact that he actually requested for the skull which Micheal Osanyinbi promised to get for him at N25,000 with an additional N1,000 for the motorbike man, who will deliver it to him. He stated further that the skull is needed for a ritual.
However, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliaysu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Special Anti Robbery Squad for further investigation and prosecution.
