Coroner’s Inquest Summons Naira Marley, Sam Larry and Others in Mohbad’s Death Case

The coroner’s inquest, which is investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of the singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has summoned prominent singer Abdulazeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, along with Owodunni Eletu, aka Sam Larry, and Owodunni Ibrahim, aka Primeboy, to appear before it on October 25, 2023.

During the inquest, Magistrate Sotobi Adedayo, presiding at the Candide Johnson Courthouse in Ikorodu, Lagos State, on Friday, October 13, 2023, instructed the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department at Panti to ensure the presence of Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and Primeboy at the upcoming adjourned date, which is slated for October 25, 2023. Notably, Marley and Larry are currently in custody at Panti.

Magistrate Adedayo also appealed for cooperation in the ongoing investigation to ensure a swift and efficient delivery of justice in the case of the singer’s death. He advised all interested parties not to engage in actions that might cause unnecessary delays, allowing MohBad’s remains to be laid to rest at last.

Additionally, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, Muhammad Yusuf, serving as an investigating officer at the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Department, confirmed that there was no conclusive evidence that Naira Marley assaulted Mohbad during their investigation. Furthermore, there was no evidence linking Sam Larry and Naira Marley to Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the nurse who administered the injection to the deceased.

Mohbad’s unfortunate demise occurred on Tuesday, September 12. After weeks of intensive investigation, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, identified the auxiliary nurse, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, who administered injections to Mohbad, along with his friend and fellow artiste, Ibrahim Owoduni, also known as Prime Boy, and another friend, Ayobami Sadiq, as prime suspects in the singer’s death. The police have questioned 26 individuals, with five suspects identified, arrested, detained, and interrogated regarding their roles in the events leading to the singer’s untimely passing. Ogedengbe administered three different injections believed to be linked to the chain of events resulting in the singer’s tragic death.
