Court Rejects Second Bail Plea for Binance Executive

Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja has denied a new bail application for Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan, who is facing money laundering charges. The decision follows Gambaryan’s initial bail request, which was based on health concerns and is still under appeal.

Justice Nwite called the latest application an “abuse of court process,” noting that the appeal on the first bail denial is ongoing. Gambaryan’s legal team continues to argue for his release, citing urgent medical needs due to a disk issue requiring surgery, as confirmed by reports from the State House Annex Clinic in Asokoro.

However, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) opposed the request, insisting that Nigerian hospitals are equipped to handle the necessary treatment. The EFCC presented a report from Nizamiye Hospital that disputed claims from Gambaryan’s family that he “can no longer walk.”
