Mallam Aliko Dangote, controller and director of the great Dangote empire maintains top spot as Africa’s richest man according to a recent list released by Forbes Magazine. It was disclosed that the 61year old Nigerian is worth about $9.9billion.
In 2018, Dangote was ranked 100th richest man in the world and also he was ranked number 66 on the powerful people list released by Forbes Magazine in 2018. According to this same Forbes magazine, Alhaji Aliko Dangote is ranked number one on the Africa’s Billioinaire list for the year 2019.
Much of his wealth was said to be got from his cement business that produces 44 million metric tons annually. His cement company is regarded as the continents largest producer in sub Saharan Africa.
Other billionaires listed include Nigerian oil magnate, Mike Adenuga whose wealth was estimated at $9.2billion, South African Nicky Oppenheimer’s wealth estimated at $7.3billion, Egyptian Nassef Sawans at $6.3 billion and Johan Rupert who is worth $5.3 billion.
