Africa’s wealthiest individual, Aliko Dangote, announced that his refinery, having obtained a license, is set to refine over 300,000 barrels of Nigerian crude daily, prioritizing local gasoline production before exports.

Despite missing initial production targets, Dangote remains confident, assuring that the refinery will commence operations “very very soon.”

The facility, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, is expected to contribute significantly to Nigeria’s fuel supply, potentially easing the nation’s struggle to meet revenue targets amid challenges like crude theft and pipeline attacks in the Niger Delta.
