Desmond Elliott who doubles as a film director, has taken to his Instagram page to celebrate his victory, thanking his fans and supporters for getting him back into the House. He used the medium to apologize to those he has hurt and also promised to do his best.

The news of his victory came after reports revealed he managed to come out unhurt after hoodlums attacked his vehicle while riding in to his polling unit in Surulere, Lagos state, where he was meant to cast his vote on Saturday, March 9.

In the result announced earlier this morning, Desmond Elliott, candidate of the APC recorded 15,357 votes, while Benjamin Olasunkanmi, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came second with 3,628 votes.

The State Constituency Returning Officer, Dr Bolajoko Dixon-Ogbechi from the University of Lagos, made the declaration at the Surulere Local Government Collation Centre in Lagos.

Recall a while back, the Nollywood actor faced serious backlash for building a public toilet for his constituents in Surulere where he is representing at the Lagos state House of Assembly. The people took the project as an insult.
