Former Governor of Oyo state, Senator Rashidi Ladoja has posited that the Federal Government should grant amnesty to Sunday Igboho who is a Yoruba freedom fighter and leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
He warned that more people like Igboho and Kanu will emerge if government does not handle the duo carefully. The Osi Olubadan of Ibadanland lamented that the failure of successive governments to address challenges facing the nation led to emergence of the agitators.
According to him, the Federal Government should not treat the agitators as criminals but should offer them amnesty as they have done to repentant Boko Haram members in Borno State.
He was quick to note that unfavorable circumstances gave rise to the agitations as it is known that Sunday Ighboho started to speak out after series of killings in ibarapa which has seen no arrest made by the police officers.
He was quoted saying “Federal government has declared amnesty for Boko Haram, they should also declare amnesty for Igboho and the IPOB leader”.
