DOGARA PLEDGES SPECIAL EDUCATION FUND FOR CHILDREN OF FALLEN HEROES ON ARMED FORCES DAY

January 15 is notable in Nigeria and it is a day that celebrates the Armed forces. Mr Yakubu Dogara, Speaker of the House of Representative, used this occasion to call for the establishment of a Special Education Fund for the children of the nation’s fallen heroes.

Mr Hassan Turaki, special adviser to the Speaker of the House of Representatives signed the statement and made it public in Abuja, on Tuesday.

Mr Dogara in his speech thanked the fallen heroes for upholding the nation’s integrity, stability and peace. He did not forget to also thank them for paying the ultimate price for the defence of the territorial borders of the nation.

He further pledged that the House of Representatives will continue to support the welfare of the armed forces. It was during his speech that he called for the establishment of an education fund for the children of the fallen heroes. He further added that we as a nation need to do all we can to win the war against terrorism and get rid of violence.
