The minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Farouk has on Saturday at a press briefing informed Nigerians not to collect less than 30,000 Naira as grant.
The minister at a press briefing in Gusau, Zamfara State, told Nigerians benefiting from the Federal Government’s Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) not to accept less than the stipulated minimum amount which is 30,000 Naira
She said that this initiative by the Buharii led government was to cushion the effect that the pandemic has had on the most vulnerable in the country.
She said that the beneficiaries will get a minimum of 30,000 and a maximum of 80,000 Naira.
“Should any of our officials involved in the programme give you anything short of the minimum amount of N30,000, do not collect. Report to me or your state governor through telephone numbers made available to you.”
On the delay of the take off of the programme in some states the minister explains that the state government is supposed to be 30 Percent ready.
Farouq noted that states are supposed to be, “30 percent ready in terms of their commitment and personnel involvement before the federal government comes in with the remaining 70 percent”.
“In Zamfara where we are now, the government had shown 30 percent commitment. We have started with communities in six out of the 14 local government areas, others will soon take off,” she added.
