The team announced on Monday that Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi will be out for three weeks with a thigh injury.

During Dortmund’s 4-1 victory over Hertha Berlin on Sunday, Adeyemi suffered the injury while setting up a Donyell Malen goal and was helped off the ground in tears.

The club tweeted on Monday, “Karim Adeyemi tore a muscle fiber during Sunday’s game against Hertha Berlin.” He won’t be able to be reached for about three weeks. Be well soon.

Adeyemi, who also scored against Hertha, has been in top form for Dortmund, who are on equal points with Bayern Munich and Union Berlin at the top of the Bundesliga.

In his last three games, Adeyemi has scored three goals and one assist.

The Germany striker, who joined the team in the summer from Red Bull Salzburg, appears to be out of action against Hoffenheim, RB Leipzig, and Schalke.

Adeyemi would also be ruled out of the London leg of Dortmund’s Champions League matchup with Chelsea after a three-week absence.

After the first leg, in which Adeyemi scored the only goal, Dortmund leads 1-0.
