DSS Warns Nigerians of Plans to Cause Chaos after Gubernatorial Polls



According to the Department of State Services (DSS), there are plans to completely disrupt the country’s law and order.

The plot, according to the secret police, was intended to be carried out following the elections for state assembly and governor.

The DSS blasted the “unnecessary palpable political tension” in some areas of the country in a statement that was released on Wednesday by Peter Afunanya, the spokesperson for the DSS.

The statement began as  It has been observed that some of the players are engaged in verbal sparring.

The development will have devastating effects on national stability and peace. The Service advises politicians and their supporters to engage in constructive dialogue in light of these factors.

“Fake news, hate speech, and other statements that could harm peaceful coexistence are discouraged to everyone. The election should not be viewed as a race to the finish. There is no justification for anyone to impose laws on others.

This is even more true given that those who have been wronged can use our courts to get their way. We ought to trust our institutions. The Service has maintained its commitment to providing a peaceful exercise environment throughout this election period.

“In this regard, it carried out mop-up operations alone and in conjunction with sister agencies to thwart the evil plans and activities of undesirable individuals to completely undermine the electoral processes.

“The Service has collaborated with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the necessary peace is maintained prior to, during, and after the exercises for hitch-free gubernatorial and State Assembly elections.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Service will work to ensure that no high-ranking individual or organization interferes with the scheduled elections throughout the Federation. It is committed to ensuring the safety and security of citizens who wish to fulfill their civic duty.

The DSS urged all Nigerians to follow the Electoral Act’s rules and existing guidelines.
