An operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Oyibogare Williams, has committed suicide by drinking a poisonous insecticide called Sniper.
The detective assistant was found dead at about 7am on Friday at his house located at Giwa Amu area, off Airport Road, Benin, the capital of Edo State.
Security sources said Mr Williams was found by one of his colleagues who went to check on him after failure to report to office on Thursday and several calls through his line went unanswered.
While searching for the possible cause of the death, police detectives found a suicide note, some unknown pills and bottles of Sniper.
His remains have been deposited at the Central Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
