The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission raided the Kolapo Ishola Estate where it rounded up six suspected Internet fraudsters on Tuesday, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Residents of the area have earlier reported illegal and fraudulent activities going on in the area to the concerned authority. This led to the early morning bust of the suspects. The suspects, were young lads between the ages of 24 and 30 years. The suspects include, Tella Adefemi Ibrahim, Awoniyi Adeseye Abiodun, Oladele Olawale Wasiu, Olabiti Afeez Ajibola, Akeredolu Oluwafemi Temidayo and Oyaremi Olalekan Olabode.
Reports have it that the suspects confessed to have been involved in several fraudulent activities, including love scams and different forms of Internet fraud, through which they obtained money from unsuspecting victims.
Various items were recovered from the suspects, which includes five different models of exotic cars, laptops, mobile phones, and several documents on which they allegedly made false representations.
