The Central Bank of Nigeria in Minna, has taken delivery of all sensitive materials for the presidential and National Assembly elections in the 25 Local Government Areas of the state.
Ibrahim Mohammed, CBN Branch Controller, disclosed this information in Minna on Tuesday while he was leading the police, security agencies and leaders of various political parties and other stakeholders to inspect the sensitive materials at the bank premises. Mr Ibrahim confirmed that all the sensitive materials earlier distributed to the 25 Local Government Areas are intact for the rescheduled elections.
He explained that the sensitive materials, which consist of ballot papers and result sheets, were earlier distributed to the 25 LGAs in respect of the Presidential and National Assembly elections on Feb. 16.
Prof. Samuel Egwu, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, said that the commission would collaborate with other security agencies to ensure smooth conduct of the rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly elections in the state. He promised to do every thing possible to ensure a violence free election in the state.
