Elon Musk, renowned as the CEO behind various ventures including X, has electrified the online community with groundbreaking announcements, sparking waves of enthusiasm among users. As the founder, CEO, and lead designer of SpaceX, Musk took to his X handle on Thursday to declare a significant shift in the platform’s dynamics. Effective immediately, accounts boasting 2,500 verified subscribers will gain access to premium features at no charge, while those surpassing the 5,000 mark will enjoy even more benefits with the introduction of Premium+.
This move comes after Musk’s acquisition of X, formerly known as Twitter, in 2022, and has been met with eager anticipation and applause from the platform’s user base. The tweet announcing these changes stated, “Going forward, all X accounts with over 2500 verified subscriber followers will get Premium features for free and accounts with over 5000 will get Premium+ for free.”
The X Premium subscription offers a plethora of perks, including minimized advertisements, eligibility for revenue sharing, and additional features aimed at enhancing user experience. Meanwhile, the newly introduced X Premium+ subscription takes it a step further, providing exclusive benefits such as an ad-free browsing experience and priority reply privileges.
In addition to these updates, Musk also confirmed on Wednesday, amidst escalating competition with OpenAI, that the Grok AI chatbot, previously exclusive to X Premium+ users, will soon become accessible to all Premium users. These strategic moves not only aim to elevate the user experience on Platform X but also underscore Musk’s commitment to innovation and inclusivity in the digital realm.
