Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has called on appropriate security agents in the state to work towards the implementing of the Anti-Open Grazing Law of the state.

The call was made by the governor on Monday in Umuahia, the state capital, while flagging-off the statewide sensitization workshop against criminal activities in Abia communities.

He pointed out that when the law is implemented in the state, the level of insecurity presently devastating the state and other parts of the country, would be reduced to it’s minimum

Represented by his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chwukwu, the Abia Governor implored stakeholders in the state to work together with the government in combatting insecurity throughout the state.

Governor Ikpeazu also charged different opinion leaders in the state especially the Traditional Rulers to live up to expectations, stating that the security of the State is everyone’s business.

He promised that the state government would continue to ensure that its citizens are safe and secured. Commending some stakeholders who were able to make it to the workshop, he disclosed that he has been assisting security agencies in the state with vehicles and essential equipment/gadgets and would strengthen the cause.
