Barcelona have announced early on Friday they have extended the contract of head coach, Ernesto Valverde for another season with the option of one more. Valverde took over at the Camp Nou in 2017 after joining from Athletic Bilbao. Last season he won the league and cup double.
FC Barcelona and head coach, Ernesto Valverde, reached an agreement to extend the contract between the two parties for another season (2019/20) with the option for one more (2020/21).
Valverde’s previous contract was set to expire at the end of this season before being handed a one year extension by the catalase club. Last season he was really close to leading Barcelona to an undefeated 2017/2018 season. Their only defeat of the season came late at the hands of Levante, the team who stopped them from making history.
Barca’s run of scoring in 37 consecutive matches in the league came to an end last Sunday with a goalless draw away to Athletic Bilbao.
