FAYULU CHALLENGES POLL RESULTS IN CONGO

Martin Fayulu who lost the recently held election in the Democratic Republic of Congo to Felix Tshisekedi has said in an interview held with the BBC that the people of Congo deserves to know the truth of what happened in the just concluded election. He strongly believe’s that the election led to a coup.

Mr Fayulu accused Tshisekedi of agreeing a power sharing deal with the outgoing President which he believes is the main reason Mr Felix Tshisekedi won the election.

Mr Fayulu’s claims were supported by the Catholic Church which is highly influential in the politics of the country. The Church posted about 40,000 election observers across every polling unit and the church has now agreed with Fayulu that the result of the election did not match it’s findings.

Mr Fayulu has promised to challenge the declared result even if it means going to court. In his own words, he said “I will do whatever is possible for me to do to get the truth because the Congolese want change”. He further claims that Mr Felix Tshisekedi was nominated by Mr Kabila, the outgoing president to continue the Kabila regime. Mr Fayulu was not shy to attest to the fact that Kabila is the boss in Congo after he ruled for 18years taking up the mantle from his Father.
