Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, reiterated his allegiance to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) while serving within the APC government led by Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Wike addressed inquiries about his party affiliation.
Wike stated, “A political party is merely a means to an end. I actively supported Tinubu during the elections, but my focus is not confined to party lines. My purpose is to contribute to President Tinubu’s pursuit of his ambitious agenda.”
The minister expressed contentment with his choice and emphasized that he remains unswayed by any potential reprimands from PDP members regarding his perceived anti-party engagements. Instead, Wike asserted the need for the PDP to introspectively address their deviation from the rotational agreement outlined in the party’s constitution.
