As the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 released the Coronavirus Disease Health Protection Regulation 2021, amid the second wave of the pandemic the Federal Capital Territory Administration says it will ensure strict compliance with the provisions of the Regulation.
This decision was part of the resolutions reached after the meeting held by the stakeholders on Friday at the FCDA Conference Hall, in Abuja.
The meeting had in attendance the Honourable Minister of State, Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, the National Incidence Manager of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Dr Mukhtar Mohammed, FCTA Permanent Secretary, Mr Olusade Adesola and other political, religious, traditional and various heads of security agencies in the FCT. The meeting was chaired by the FCT Minister, Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello.
Anthony Ogunleye, Bello’s Chief Press Secretary, made this known in a statement on Friday in Abuja.
The meeting also brought about other resolutions reached including the need for the FCT Administration to sanction corporate organizations that defaults and ensure the effective use of the mobile court system for trial of offenders.
Educating and further engagement with the community following a baseline assessment of how much the populace know about the virus and launching massive awareness campaigns across the 6 Area Councils of the FCT to further sensitize members of the public on COVID-19 were also part of the resolution reached by the FCT Administration.
The meeting further resolved that there was the need for traditional rulers, religious and community leaders to fully mobilize and enlighten their various constituents on the need to fully comply with the resolutions. This is in addition to ensuring strict compliance in all the markets across the FCT.
