Federal Government declares Friday and Monday public holidays for Easter celebrations

To commemorate the Easter holiday this year, the Federal Government has declared Friday, April 7, and Monday, April 10, 2023 as public holidays.
The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, made the announcement in Abuja.

In a statement that was signed on Wednesday by Shuaib Begore, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Aregbesola urged Christians to imitate the virtues of sacrifice, community, forgiveness, kindness, love, peace, and patience that Jesus Christ exemplified in His earthly ministry.

The minister urged Christians and all Nigerians to pray for an end to security issues in some areas of the country during this year’s Easter celebration.

According to Aregbesola, “Security is everyone’s business.” As a result, I appeal to Nigerians and foreigners who reside in our nation to demonstrate a high sense of civic duty and civic zeal by assisting all security agencies in establishing peace and ensuring the safety of citizens’ lives and property.

Following the peaceful conduct of the elections, the minister gave the assurance that the Federal Government is doing everything in its power to ensure a peaceful transition of power.

In addition to wishing Christians at home and in the Diaspora a joyous and peaceful Easter, he encourages them to love their neighbors by showing kindness and spirit, encouraging the wealthy to share their wealth with the less fortunate.

Aregbesola once more reassures Nigerians that the country is consistently on the road to greatness and encourages everyone to use their creative energy constructively in order to fully reap the benefits of the forthcoming prosperity.
