The federal government has declared Wednesday, May 29 and June 12, as public holidays to mark the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari and Democracy Day respectively.
This announcement was made today, May 20, by the minister of information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in a press conference ahead of the inauguration of the second term in office of President Buhari.
Lai Mohammed said people who desire to be invited to the presidential inauguration will be invited to Democracy Day.
Reports also indicated that barely nine days to President Buhari’s inauguration for a second term on May 29, ministers have intensified lobby to retain their appointments in the federal cabinet.
According to the report, about 70 percent of the current ministers are desperately lobbying to serve in the next cabinet.
