In celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, the federal government has announced Tuesday and Wednesday as public holidays. The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, conveyed the news in a message extending congratulations to the Muslim community across the nation.

Eid-el-Fitr marks the culmination of Ramadan, a month-long period of fasting observed by Muslims globally. Minister Tunji-Ojo commended all Muslims for their dedication throughout Ramadan.

Encouraging adherence to the values of kindness, love, tolerance, and peace exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him), the Minister wished the Muslim Ummah a joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration. He also extended prayers for peace, blessings, and prosperity to every individual and to Nigeria as a whole.

Additionally, Tunji-Ojo called upon Nigerians to uphold unity, striving together towards peace and solidarity within the nation.
