Federal Government Declares Work-Free Day to Commemorate Inauguration of 16th Democratically Elected President


The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that Monday, 29th May 2023 will be a work-free day for all workers across the country. This decision, according to the government, is aimed at providing an opportunity for Nigerians to honor and celebrate the inauguration of the nation’s 16th democratically elected President.

Dr. Shuiab Belgore, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, released a statement on Friday, conveying the declaration made by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, on behalf of the Federal Government.

The Minister expressed his felicitations to all Nigerians on this momentous occasion and commended them for their unwavering faith in democracy as demonstrated through the nationwide elections that led to the election of the President and his Deputy, as well as in all other elections held across the nation.
