In a Federal Executive Council meeting that held yesterday night, The Federal Government has agreed to present a N30,000 new National Minimum Wage proposal to the National Economic Council on Thursday 17th of January, for further consultations.

President Muhammadu Buhari was present at the meeting which held at the Presidential Villa. Also in attendance are several state Governors, some notable Ministries, the Central Bank of Nigeria and Agencies of government constitute the NEC.

Mr Lai Mohammed, The Minister of Information told the State House correspondents after the FEC rose that the government would meet with NEC for further discussions.

He further said nothing is agreed until after the meeting of the NEC. He claims it is a work in progress. The outcome of the meeting will then be discussed with the media. The Vice President is the Chairman of the National Economic Council.
