The Ooni Of IFe, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi and his Queen, Olori Silekunola, has announced the birth of their son.
The King made this known via his Instagram page.
“To God be the glory great things he has done. Hearty congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and Olori Silekunola who today birthed a Prince to the Royal throne of Oduduwa. Mother and child are doing well to the glory of God Almighty”, he wrote.
However, amid the excitement of the prince’s arrival, palace sources have now revealed that the monarch will not be allowed to set eyes on his son any time soon.
The reason for the development has a lot to do with longstanding tradition, that forbids an Ooni from seeing the newborn or the mother until the natural hair of the child has been completely scraped off, and this could be in about six months time.
In addition, it was also rumoured that some rites would be performed before the heir to the throne is brought to the palace, and his arrival would be widely celebrated.
