Flutterwave Launches Tuition: Revolutionizing African Students’ Education Payments

Africa’s leading payments technology company, Flutterwave, has unveiled Tuition, an innovative payment product designed to facilitate convenient fee payments for African students within the continent and abroad, all in their local currencies.

With Tuition, high schools, universities, colleges, and renowned global edutech platforms are easily accessible for payment. The aim of this groundbreaking service is to tackle the challenges faced by students studying both locally and internationally when it comes to paying their school fees, ensuring seamless transactions. Presently, Tuition enables students, parents, guardians, and sponsors to effortlessly pay school fees to over 40 UK institutions, with future plans to expand to more African countries and institutions worldwide.

Traditionally, African payments to overseas schools have been impeded by various obstacles, including steep transaction costs, limited access to banking services, lack of transparency, security concerns, and fluctuating currency exchange rates. However, Flutterwave’s new product harnesses its cutting-edge payments technology solution, offering a more convenient, secure, and dependable method of paying school fees.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Olugbenga Agboola, CEO of Flutterwave, stated, “We are thrilled to introduce Tuition to support the aspirations of African students at all academic levels, enabling them to pursue their studies anywhere without the worry of meeting their school fees payment deadlines. With Tuition, we provide a safer, reliable, and affordable means for African students to fulfill their dreams, while seamlessly receiving financial support from parents, guardians, and sponsors.”

Stella Elele, Product Manager of Tuition by Flutterwave, added, “Our constant quest to streamline payment challenges in Africa has led us to introduce Tuition, which we believe will be a game changer for parents seeking to support their children’s education. We are excited to offer this solution initially in Nigeria, with plans to expand the service to other African countries. Our goal is to deliver the best possible service and support to our customers.”

The product is currently available in Nigeria for UK school fee payments, and in the coming months, it will be introduced to other African nations. Flutterwave has ambitious plans to enhance access to the product by adding more schools in Africa, the UK, US, Canada, France, and Germany. Tuition truly represents a remarkable advancement in African students’ education payment system.
