Former Anambra State Governor, Senator Jim Nwobodo leaves APC, rejoins PDP

Senator Jim Nwobodo, Former Governor of old Anambra State and Co-founder of the People’s Democratic party in 1998 on Friday announced that he has dumped the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Nwobodo, was one of those who defected to the APC on the wake of the massive defection across the country but has now rejoined his former political platform, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

He was clearly absent at the presidential campaign of the All Progressives Congress which took place in the state on Thursday. His defection was announced to key leaders during a meeting with the PDP leaders in the Southeast, in Enugu. Those present at thethe meeting include, S.N Okeke, former chairman, Police Service Commission, Prof. A.B. Nwosu, Chief Oseloka Obaze, the Secretary to the Abia State Government, amongst others.

Nwobodo in his statement has faulted the Buhari administration and had voiced his anger about the actions of the APC saying “I’m a democrat, I believe in democracy, those around Mr. President should tell him the truth”. He also described the government’s attempt to arraign the Chief Justice of Nigeria illegally as a mockery and desecration of the judiciary and the rule of law, promising not to be a part of such ridicule.
