Former Assistant Sues Vin Diesel of Sexual Assault and Wrongful Termination

Renowned actor Vin Diesel faces legal action as a former assistant, Asta Jonasson, files a lawsuit alleging sexual battery dating back to 2010. According to Jonasson, the distressing incident transpired during her tenure on the set of “Fast Five” in Atlanta. She claims Diesel coerced her into his hotel suite, where he reportedly forced her onto the bed and initiated unwanted advances. Despite her attempts to escape, Jonasson asserts the actor restrained her, continuing to grope her against her will.

Moreover, Jonasson alleges that the assault escalated as Diesel compelled her to touch him inappropriately. She described feeling trapped and fearful of upsetting Diesel, leading her to endure the ordeal, eventually resulting in her termination from Diesel’s company shortly after the incident.

The lawsuit, filed in California under the Sexual Abuse and Cover-Up Accountability Act, aims to address not only the alleged sexual assault but also the unlawful termination. This legislation, enacted in 2022, enables survivors of sexual assault to pursue legal action, even after the expiration of the statute of limitations.

This case joins a series of high-profile legal actions within the entertainment industry, echoing similar instances where individuals have invoked similar laws in New York to bring allegations against prominent figures, including former President Donald Trump, Sean “Diddy” Combs, and actor Jamie Foxx, for sexual assault.
