Former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, Detained by EFCC for Questioning on Financial Misappropriation

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) currently holds the former Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, at its Makurdi custody. According to reports, Ortom responded to an invitation and arrived at the Makurdi zonal office of the anti-graft agency on Tuesday morning, located at Alor Gordon Street.

Ortom’s presence at the EFCC office is in connection with an ongoing investigation into allegations of financial misappropriation during his tenure as a government official. An undisclosed reliable source confirmed that the former governor was invited for questioning regarding the alleged misappropriation of funds.

Despite attempts to reach the EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, through phone calls and text messages, there has been no response regarding the latest developments.
